How to get to Nerja (from Malaga Airport)

To date, the Carjet online car booking facility below has been the most reasonable & is generally reliable, cars can be reserved up to 48hours prior to departure and cars can be dropped off at Crown Car Hire in Nerja, if required.
1a.) Driving Instructions:
The drive from Malaga airport to Nerja is straightforward in the main, except for the first few km?s as you leave Malaga Airport. This can be a little tricky!
Nerja is located 60kms east of Malaga and the journey time from Malaga Airport to Nerja should take around 45mins.
Upon collecting your car, you need to follow the signs for the N340 (Malaga) from the Airport. (Note: Taking the right hand lane will lead to the N340 CADIZ road, however if you take left hand lane it will take you onto the Malaga motorway, and onwards to Nerja.
Leaving the Airport keep in the left hand lane, signed MALAGA.
You should cross over a main road, curve round to the right and join another main road heading towards Malaga. It?s important to keep in the right hand lane.
After a couple of km?s, you will see a sign on the right for several destinations, including MOTRIL, ANTEQUERRA & ALMERIA. Take this exit, curve around on the exit and join the AUTOVIA DE MEDITERANEO). This is the N340. Keep following it for MOTRIL & ALMERIA and for Nerja.
Stay on this road (N340), exit it at junction 292 and follow the signs for Nerja. There are two exits fro Nerja, the first is signposted Nerja and Frigliana. The second is signposted Nerja and Maro. If you?re staying in Nerja town, take the first exit towards the town centre.

2.) Taxi
The taxi rank is located directly outside Malaga airport arrivals.
Taxis are generally available around the clock.

75-85euros.Maximum passenger occupancy is 4 adults.

3.) Bus
Two buses are required to get to Nerja.
The first departs from Malaga Airport to Malaga bus station. Journey time is approx. 15 mins. Tickets cost ca. 9euros per person and can be purchased on board. The last bus to depart from Malaga to Nerja is at ca. 2200.
The second will take you direct from Malaga bus station to Nerja bus station. Journey time is 1hr. Tickets cost 5euros per person and can be purchased on board. Buses depart on the hour & the last bus leaves from Malaga at 2045. The name of the bus company is Alsina Graells.
